ASCO: Without Permission

Asa Nisi Masa Films announces a new feature documentary we are developing with North of Now and La Corriente del Golfo.

ASCO: Without Permission profiles the extraordinary art collective of the 70's-80's, ASCO, who merged activism/art and challenged Latinx representation in the art world, politics, and Hollywood through their incendiary performance art, photography, video, and muralism. Without Permission examines the importance of their subversive and wildly spirited work and how it serves as a framework for Latinx representation in today's cultural landscape.

North of Now is led by Andrew Renzi and Nick Boak. They have produced various projects, including Ready for War, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was released by Showtime. La Corriente del Golfo (LCG) is a production company based in Mexico City, founded in 2018 by Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal.
